Recap: Solo Leveling (俺だけレベルアップな件, Ore dake Reberu Appu na Ken), is the first anime season of the adaptation of Chu-Gong’s Solo Leveling webnovel and the webtoon series. It was announced for 12 episodes, and aired on January 6th, 2024.
Season one covers the D-Rank Dungeon Arc through to the Job Change Arc.
A decade ago, a mysterious corridor called “the Gate” opened up, connecting the mundane world with one of magic and monsters. And regular dudes became super powered, and were called Hunters to kill those evil monsters. Among them is Sung Jinwoo, a 20-year-old Hunter known as the “World’s Weakest” due to his paltry powers. He’s chasing lower levels of monster in Gates to find money to pay for his mother’s medical bills.
Jinwoo’s miserable life takes a dramatic turn after a catastrophic quest, when, waking up in a hospital, he thinks he’s the only survivor. A mysterious dashboard featuring a “Quest Log” forces him to submit to a punishing training program or suffer dire consequences. Jinwoo doubts its possibility at first, but as he understands that he could become one of the strongest Hunters in the world, he gladly takes it.
